KEEPING THE GANGES RIVER FLOWING

I have been given the amazing opportunity to participate in the collaboration between WWF India & Reckitt to protect and restore the freshwater ecosystems of the Ganges. The Ganges and its river basin support lots of wonderful wildlife, particularly river dolphins, otters, freshwater turtles and gharials (small bulbous-nosed crocodiles).

Participating in this WWF challenge will give me a unique opportunity to get closer to the programme in India and see first-hand the change that the partnership is making together. 

The volunteering activities include: Time engaging with local communities who rely on the river for their livelihood; help with work around key river species; river health assessments; and seeing the metal industry and their impacts on the river.

All funds raised through this challenge will go to WWF and their project in India to restore vulnerable freshwater habitats for the benefit of both people and nature.
